What makes this product sustainable?

At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy for you to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.

Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.

Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.

  • Low Carbon Footprint

Suzanne Rae practices local production to reduce the harmful carbon emissions that often accrue from transportation-related pollution. Additionally, choosing production facilities in their hometown allows them to develop relationships with their partners to ensure garments are being produced in safe facilities with fair wages and working conditions.

  • Social

Suzanne Rae looks to embody feminist ideals through their empowering collaborations with local NYC women groups like WIN and Girls Inc, which provide mentorship, job training, safe housing, and counseling for women in need.

Feminist theory also recognizes the necessity for valuing and enhancing global interconnection, which is why Suzanne Rae also collaborates with national environmental groups including the Endangered Species Coalition. This coalition works diligently to preserve and protect the endangered wild spaces and animals in North America.

  • Slow Fashion

Suzanne Rae is part of the Slow Fashion Movement, which disregards seasonal production in favor of timeless collections. Each Suzanne Rae piece is made with the utmost consideration for longevity, aiming to empower and elevate your sense of self for many years to come.

  • Natural Materials

This brand utilizes a mixture of natural and synthetic fabrics, with special attention on innovative fibers like recycled polyester and recycled nylon. Most articles of clothing are worn 7-10 times before 85% of them end up in landfills, which means utilizing recycled fibers significantly reduces textile waste and elongates the lifespan of textiles across the world.
