What makes this product sustainable?

At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy for you to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.

Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.

Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.

  • Sustainable Materials

Leather is ICEC certified for quality management systems and environmental management systems as well as LWG gold rated for its ethical, environmental, and safety practices used during the processing of the hides.

Buckle is made out of brass. Brass is one of the most recycled metals.

  • Chemical Free Materials

    Vegetable tanned leather from Italy

Vegetable tanning is an ancient and traditional craft process that uses tannin, a plant extract, to color the hides, resulting in leather that is chemical free and 100% environmentally friendly

The vegetable tanned process gives the leather its distinct characteristics - unmatched durability, rich and deep in natural earth toes, and a unique patina that develops over time with prolonged use and exposure to the environment.

  • Ethically and Responsibly Made

Designed and manufactured in New York City. This allows Mardu to oversee every step of the production process.
