eugenie Family!
We are so grateful for you, your support, and allowing us to be here and make it to this milestone. Our five year anniversary celebration brought a feeling of warmth having our community show up so strongly to support our team, our shop and to ‘cheers’ one another. This timeline speaks for itself in all that has been accomplished in just 5 years for our little neighborhood boutique. It is fun to reflect on the things that have grown and evolved; however, it’s also nice to acknowledge the mindset that we launched with, and that has remained.
eugenie’s mission from the beginning was to prove that doing right for people and the planet can be fashionable, fun, and even sexy. It is more common now, but five years ago not many brands or shops were bringing responsibility into the conversation. Sustainability was not widely spoken about, and it was hard to understand exactly what the word meant. When we opened our doors, we not only wanted to support the brands that were doing good by investing in their products, but we wanted to teach and educate our community about what these brands were doing and why it matters. It’s so important to support small, independent, and woman-owned brands. We took that notion, and quite frankly that challenge, and ran with it.
To our absolute delight, this was a concept that you were looking for as well! And you let us know, by asking us questions, being engaged, and loving the products that we brought to you. You showed up for us at the very beginning when it was a global pandemic and it was hard to think about the concept of shopping or being around others. You came out for your friends, neighbors, or a community member who launched an independent brand and was popping up in our space, and you cheered on our grant finalists and winners and encouraged them to continue down their path. You also treated our team with kindness and respect, and in some instances even developed a friendship beyond the shop with us or other shoppers. All of these things mean so much to the team at eugenie, and we love the fact that they matter to you, as well.
We can’t help but feel immense gratitude and pride in where we are today. What began as the two of us sitting in a little shop, that was acting more as a showroom, has grown into two thriving storefronts, an incredible team of dedicated humans, and a vibrant community that has supported us in becoming who we are today.
