What makes this product sustainable?
At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy for you to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.
Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.
Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.
People
Meadows produces their garments through boutique-sized facilities in China that have signed internal ethical and safety documents. These facilities are regularly audited in areas such as worker safety, gender equality, and fair wages.
Natural Materials
Meadows is committed to sourcing sustainable materials whenever possible. At least 90% of the cotton used in Meadows garments is organic, which has a significantly positive environmental impact. Using organic cotton has the potential to significantly reduce soil erosion, energy waste, and the potential for global warming.
Additionally, Meadows exclusively sources wool from suppliers that adhere to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). The RWS prioritizes animal welfare, healthy land preservation, social welfare, and chain of custody certification for all of their qualifying suppliers. This comprehensive certification system can give consumers confidence in the responsible practices behind their textiles.
