We know sustainability can be a nuanced and complex topic, so we broke it down for you in a way that is simple and easy to understand.

  • Social Standards

Kowtow only uses material that is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). By being built on four pillars of criteria around Organic Fibers, Ecological and Social Impact, Processing Stages, and Third Party Certifications, consumers can be assured that GOTS-certified products are ecologically and socially responsible.

Additionally, all of Kowtow’s organic cotton is SA8000 and Fairtrade certified. This means you can feel confident that garments purchased from this brand were made with fibers processed in safe facilities that practice fair wages and sustainable trading.

  • Natural Materials

Kowtow garments are exclusively made from 100% organic cotton. As the most commonly used fiber in global textile production, choosing to source organic cotton has a significant environmental impact. Through non-toxic and minimal intervention growing techniques, organic cotton farming has the potential to significantly reduce the potential for global warming, soil erosion, and energy waste compared to conventional methods.

  • B Corp Certified

Kowtow is a B Corp Certified brand. The B Corp Certification is an impressive achievement that requires businesses to meet extremely rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This extensive process is in place to ensure that you can feel confident that Kowtow is making responsible and mission-aligned decisions to beneficially impact both people and the planet.
