Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.
Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.
Natural Materials
This brand only uses biodegradable yarn dyed with organic eco-friendly dyes. Variously sources the majority of their material from vendors local to their artisans in India and Nepal to cut back on energy waste from unnecessary transportation.
Ethical Production
Variously products are slow-made and hand-produced ethically by artisans in India and Nepal. Ensuring each piece is produced with intention reduces energy waste and overproduction.
People
All of the ethical manufacturing takes place directly between Variously and the artisans. Close partnerships like this cut out the potential waste generated from using middlemen.
Additionally, 80% of the Variously workforce in manufacturing, design, logistics, merchandising, styling and design are women. This helps fund the livelihood of women artisans in interior and rural pockets of India and Nepal.
