What makes this brand sustainable?

At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy for you to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.

Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.

Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.

  • Low Carbon Footprint

Gil Rodriguez produces their garments locally in Los Angeles, and sources fabric for their core collection from local mills whenever possible. Practicing local production and sourcing cuts back on harmful carbon emissions that often accrue from transportation-related pollution.

  • Social

This brand employs local LA-based skilled workers to produce their garments in safe facilities with fair wages.

  • Slow Fashion

Gil Rodriguez is part of the Slow Fashion Movement, which disregards seasonal production in favor of timeless collections. While the average garment is only worn 7-10 times before being thrown away, Slow Fashion aims to reduce overconsumption by keeping garments in our wardrobes longer.
