What makes this product sustainable?
At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy for you to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.
Each new designer we work with starts with a conversation about sustainability and how it relates to their brand and products.
Sustainability can mean many different things, we tried to break it down for you in a way that is easy to understand.
Natural Materials and Deadstock Yarn
Wol Hide uses natural, organic and deadstock materials such as Alpaca, Pima Cotton, Color Grown Cotton, and Organic Cotton as much as possible with minimal dyeing or chemical processing.
Wol Hide works with a local small woman-owned natural dye house in Pennsylvania. They use rain water for their washing processes and non toxic mineral mordants for the plant dyes.
Wol Hide works closely with a small family run factory in Peur for all industrial machine knitting. They also work with a small artisan collaborative for handknit and hand-loomed pieces. The knitters are able to work from home so they can earn a living while still caring for their families.
